Faith@Home Parent Coaching Registration is Open

Parents are asking, “How do I begin faith at home?” and, “How can I raise kids to have a heart for God with- out following a cookie cutter approach?”

We have an answer.

Faith@Home ministries has partnered with Timothy Smith, M.A. of ParentsCoach.org to provide professional, online coaching. You can now receive Faith@Home coaching for your stage of parenting from a nationally recognized parents’ coach at your home or office.

Faith@Home Parent Networks:

First Wednesday of each Month

  • Moms of Middle Ones (K-5th grade) 10:00 to 10:45 PST Wed. April 7 & May 5
  • Mom’s of Little Ones (Birth-Preschool) 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm PST Wed. April 7 & May 5
  • Rookie Dads (Birth-Preschool) 5:00 pm to 5:45 pm PST April 7 & May 5
  • Dad School (K-5th grade) 6:15 pm to 7:00 pm PST April 7 & May 5

Second Wednesday of each Month

  • Parents of Adolescents (Moms and Dads – 5th-12th grade) 5:00 pm to 5:45 pm April 14 and May 12

Registration will open Thursday March 18.

Each network session is limited to 25 participants to facilitate interaction. Online coaching is affordable and only a fraction of the cost of face-to-face coaching.

Topics include:

  • The home makeover
  • Developing your family mission statement
  • Grace-based discipline
  • Sticky faith
  • Your 20-year parenting strategy

And other topics defined by you!
Timothy Smith has worked with families for thirty years, as a youth and family pastor and family coach. He is a popular speaker and the author of 17 books, including The Danger of Raising Nice Kids– Preparing Our Children To Change Their World. Notes From Parents Coaching Trial

Well our Free Trial went very well. Tim gave us some insight into what a Faith at Home Coaching Session will be. He also shared his “PeanutButter” and Sticky Faith – great stuff.

The two winners of Mark’s Faith Begins at Home Books were: Lisa Hart and Dean Butterfield, congratulations your books will be in the mail by weeks end.

Scripture Tim shared
Write these commandments that I’ve given you today on your hearts. Get them inside of you and then get them inside your children. Talk about them wherever you are sitting at home or walking in the street, talk about them from the time you get up in the morning to when you fall into bed at night. Tie them on your hands and foreheads as a reminder. Inscribe them on the doorposts of your homes and on your city gates. Deut. 6:6-9 MSG

And part of St. Patrick’s Breastplate Prayer that was also shared:
Christ be with me, Christ within me,
Christ behind me, Christ before me,
Christ beside me, Christ to win me,
Christ to comfort and restore me.

God has given you what you need to lead family devotions and you need to trust in that fact. You also have two things going for you. First is the fact that chances are no one in your household has ever participated in family devotions before so they won’t know if you’re doing it right or wrong. And second, there is no right or wrong way to have family devotions. This is what I call the ultimate win/win situation! You can’t go wrong because there is no expectation or standard that you must meet. Martin Luther once wrote that parents are called to be the “bishops, apostles and priests of their own homes.” So there you have it, you are now a pastor, or better yet Bishop of your own home! Go and lead devotions trusting that God will guide and lead you.
