Faith@Home Church Leader Coaching

As you are probably aware the Faith@Home movement is an international movement that God is leading through the church to reestablish the home as the primary place where faith is lived, expressed and nurtured.  This movement is spreading across Canada, the US as well as Germany, Norway, Switzerland, Sweden and the Netherlands as thousands of church leaders are examining how they can lead their ministry in a more faith@home focused manner.  Since this is a new, ever evolving and fast growing movement many church leaders today are seeking ways to connect and learn from one another.  That’s why we are offering online, Faith@Home coaching networks.  Through these networks church leaders from across the world will have an opportunity to participate in a webcast to gain fresh insights and learn from other like minded leaders who are working to make their ministry more Faith@Home focused.  In addition to this we also wanted to create a place where you can learn from some leading practitioners who have developed successful approaches that we run across in our travels for the Faith@Home movement.

The final reason why we are offering online coaching is to help you keep the momentum going after you have heard a message or attended a conference that has positively challenged you to be a more faith@home focused leader/church.  Becoming a faith@home focused church is going to take time and we wanted to be there, through coaching, to help you build a strong and lasting faith@home strategy into your church ministry structure.  Through online coaching you will now have an opportunity to get fresh, new faith@home insights and support each month without having to leave your office or home!

Online Faith@Home Church Coaching

As you know, Satan has been at work for many generations to slowly and methodically take Christ and Christ-like living out of the home. The Faith@Home methodology is God’s response yet it is not a quick fix thing and as your missionary I want to be able to continue to provide support and encouragement to you as you wrestle with how to become more Faith@Home focused.

One of the things that God has opened a door for me to be able to provide is monthly online coaching for Sr. pastors, children’s ministry leaders and youth ministry leaders. Beginning this fall, at a monthly time yet to be determined, Sr. Pastors, children’s ministry leaders and youth leaders will be able to tune in to live, interactive, online coaching sessions targeting Faith@Home issues and topics unique to each of these ministry areas. These coaching sessions will be one hour in length and will include a “guest practitioner” who will also speak into the topic. Essentially here is how the coaching sessions will work:

  • First 15-20 minutes – I will introduce the topic/issue and provide my insights on this topic and why it is one of the key issues we need to address.
  • Next 15-20 minutes – I will introduce you as the “guest practitioner” who will provide your insights/ideas on the topic.
  • Final 15-20 minutes – I will lead a Q&A time where you can ask questions relating to the topic or anything else you have need of.

Faith Begins at Home Devotions Insight #4

From the newly released Faith Begins at Home Devotions by Pastor Mark Holmen

God has given you what you need to lead family devotions and you need to trust in that fact. You also have two things going for you. First is the fact that chances are no one in your household has ever participated in family devotions before so they won’t know if you’re doing it right or wrong. And second, there is no right or wrong way to have family devotions. This is what I call the ultimate win/win situation! You can’t go wrong because there is no expectation or standard that you must meet. Martin Luther once wrote that parents are called to be the “bishops, apostles and priests of their own homes.” So there you have it, you are now a pastor, or better yet Bishop of your own home! Go and lead devotions trusting that God will guide and lead you.

Faith Begins at Home Prayer Insight #4

From the newly released Faith Begins at Home Prayer by Pastor Mark Holmen

One of the concerns that parents may have in bringing faith into the center of their home is the fear that their children will ask a question they don’t know how to answer. That’s the beauty of prayer. It gives you a chance to turn these questions and concerns over to God. We don’t have the answers. It’s okay to admit it in prayer.

Faith Begins at Home Devotions Insight #3

From the newly released Faith Begins at Home Devotions by Pastor Mark Holmen

So let me be crystal clear, family devotions are more influential in shaping the long-term faith walk of your children than any church program you sign them up for no matter how good the program is. Do you want your kids to have a lasting faith? They type of faith that will stick with them forever? The type of faith that will influence the myriad of life decisions they will have to make? Then you have to set the example of living a wholly devoted life through the devotional way you live your life at home.

Faith Begins at Home Prayer Insight #3

From the newly released Faith Begins at Home Prayer by Pastor Mark Holmen

People are at different places in their prayer life. Some in your family may never have prayed aloud in their own words. Don’t put pressure on others to pray in a certain way. Avoid rewarding or judging those with more or less experience. It is important to give permission for people to pray in their own way.

How To Be A Faith@Home Dad #3 IMPRESS THEM

From the newly released Faith Begins at Home Dad by Pastor Mark Holmen

I was impressed and completely in awe of God when I saw the Grand Canyon the first time. And I was truly impressed the first time I walked into Wrigley Field to see the Chicago Cubs play. I still remember exactly where I sat and how green the grass was and how beautiful the ivy was in center field. I have seen Tiger Woods, the Grand Canyon, and Wrigley Field many times on television but it wasn’t the same. What makes a lasting impression? Seeing something firsthand with your own eyes.

You can tell your children the ways and commands of God. You can take your children to church and have the church teach them the ways and commands of God. But your children will not have a lasting impression in their lives until they see it firsthand in you.

Dad, whether you like to hear this or not, your child is going to be impressed, one way or the other, by the way you live your life. You can impress them to be one hour, at church only, hypocritical Christians who only dress, act, and behave like Christians at church or you can impress them to be fully devoted, 24/7 Christians who are continually living according to the motto, “WWJHYD – What Would Jesus Have You Do?”
