Why become a Faith@Home focused church/pastor? Reason #5

For the past ten years God has blessed me with the opportunity to speak to thousands of church leaders regarding what it means to be a church focused on faith at home Yet, the question I hear most often is—“What do I have to do to get my pastor on board with this?” Let me answer that question speaking from the place of a former Sr. Pastor who knows what it’s like to have many people telling you what you should get “on board” with. Here’s why you should consider becoming a Faith@Home focused church and pastor.
Faith@Home Is About You Before Your Church. I have had literally hundreds of pastor’s comment to me that the faith at home focus saved their family. As pastors we are called to be spiritual leaders of our congregations yet many times this means we are spiritually empty when we get home. We have spent all day praying, listening, discerning and reading Scripture with people at church so when we get home we don’t have the time, interest or energy to do it with our spouse or children. Put simply, we can’t lead a faith at home movement in our churches if we aren’t leading it in our own homes as pastors and church leaders. The Faith@Home Church seminar will not only make you a better church it will make you a better person and family.

Dear Mark;
I am a senior pastor & attended your “faith At Home” seminar in Edmonton AB. & found it very helpful as i had already read your book “Faith At Home!” prior to the conference. Have ordered a number of your resources including the Take It Home ideas book. Question: i would like us to intitate the Take It Home events, & am assuming, for example that in the 1st year we would host the 8 events from the Blessing through to “Money & Me” but only if we have a one or more families with childern of the age of the event while the student minstry pastor would initate the youth section. Is this the best way to start?
Otherwise, we would be 6-8 years implementing the Take It home Events if we only did one a year, right? Your feed back & coaching would be appreciated. By the way we have approx 180 people on our church roll with a higher precentage of young families.
Thanks,
Stan
