For the past ten years God has blessed me with the opportunity to speak to thousands of church leaders regarding what it means to be a church focused on faith at home Yet, the question I hear most often is—“What do I have to do to get my pastor on board with this?” Let me answer that question speaking from the place of a former Sr. Pastor who knows what it’s like to have many people telling you what you should get “on board” with. Here’s why you should consider becoming a Faith@Home focused church and pastor.
Satan Doesn’t Want You To Be Faith at Home Focused. Satan has been strategically and methodically attacking the home, realizing that if he can get people to be, at best, one-hour Christians, he can lead the following generations away from following Christ. Current statistics say that anywhere between 60-90% of current Christian children are going to disengage from the faith when they are young adults. And the primary reason they are walking away is hypocrisy. They believe Christianity is a bunch of hypocrisy because they grew up seeing Christianity as something you did at church only, and not at home. Satan doesn’t want singles, seniors, students, or parents to live out their faith at home, because the home is the primary place where faith is lived and nurtured. Therefore Pastor, you need to realize that Satan doesn’t want you or your church to become faith at home focused. I don’t know about you but when it’s something Satan doesn’t want, that compels me even more to do it!
