At Lake Pointe Church, one of the ways we have decided to keep the Faith@Home movement before our people is to have fall and springs campaigns. A campaign consists of drilling down on one aspect of Faith@Home that provides more of a major focus rather than a shotgun approach. Our intention is to encourage and reinforce a habit each time we have a campaign.
For example, our first campaign was Praying@Home, in which we encouraged each home to be a 7-5-2 family where everyone in the home committed to pray for their family members 7 times a week, pray with their family members 5 times a week, and for spouses to pray with each other twice a week after sharing intimate and detailed prayer requests. We had close to 9,000 people make commitments to be a 7-5-2 family for the following 120 days. We provided prayer calendars for all of our grade school kids in which they could mark each time they prayed for their family, each time they prayed together as a family, and when mom and dad prayed together.
Another campaign was our Serving Together campaign where once again we asked everyone to commit to be involved in at least one serving project a month for the following 120 days. We then provided a list of serving opportunities in which family members of all ages could minister together.
A third campaign was Blessing Your Family, in which we encouraged family members to affirm one another.
During each campaign, we provided printed materials with specific information such as recommended books and CDs. In addition, at least one message on the topic was preached in each campaign and commitment cards were distributed that called for the specific commitment in writing.
